Principal's Message

Bobcat Parents and Stakeholders,

I am William Rednour and I am ecstatic to continue serving you as your Principal here at Friendship Elementary for the 2024-2025 school year.  Although I have just under 20 years of experience working in Lake County, I am a resident of Deltona and am pleased to be serving the community to which I live.  Most of my education career has been working with middle school students as I was an algebra teacher before transitioning to administration.  I have been an administrator at an elementary school for 4 years prior to coming to Friendship Elementary.  I have served in the administration capacity at the middle school level for 7 years.

I fully believe that there are opportunities to be successful without college in life, but the odds are stacked in your favor when you pursue furthering education down the road after elementary school.  If we can start early at this level to build a strong foundation, where students leave with their grade level standards mastered, they are on the right track for the opportunity to pursue college if so desired.  I am committed to leading students here at Friendship Elementary to have the tools necessary to be academically enriched.

Last school year, we made progress on raising our school grade.  Our teachers will continue to look at students’ data and find the areas where they are not meeting grade level expectations.  Teachers pull these students into a smaller group to focus in on the area they are not moving forward and “teach” them to help students achieve success.  As a school, we look at every student’s data multiple times throughout the year and extra supports are pushed into classrooms to help students get to mastery.  It is my belief that A PAWsitive Attitude Leads to Success! Therefore, to make this belief a reality for all Bobcats, we must provide avenues for collaboration in the classroom, provide interventions when they are not moving forward with learning, teach students with engaging lessons, and continue to progress-monitor students’ assessment results to identify areas of focus. Our mission is simple: Teach Every Kid, Every Day, and sometimes in different ways!

I will continue to look for the faculty and staff here at Friendship to partner with all parents in the village mentality.  We will work alongside you to provide a high-quality and positive educational experience that builds academic success and a foundation for life-long learning.  Please consider joining our Parent Teacher Organization (PTO) and/or our School Advisory Council (SAC).  Both of these monthly meetings will keep you informed of what is happening here at the school and will also give you the chance to provide input on the decision making.  We got this and I continue to look forward to serving this community.
